The future is bright, in Christ.

Life is amazing.  So many challenges, struggles, surprises, and joys.  Looking back on the last couple of months, all I can say is, wow.  In our verto household meeting this morning we were reminded by our good friends Brett and Lyn Johnson about how Paul viewed the past and the future.

“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind [the past] and straining toward what is ahead [the future], I press on toward the goal to win the prize [the goal] for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).  What an awesome attitude!  Paul harbored no grudges or offenses.  He let bygones be bygones.  He let God dish out the justice.  “Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble” (Psalms 119:165).

Paul went on to say in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”  This is God’s “positive thinking course.”  In other words, with God’s help, we can transform our thoughts and our minds to focus on the Kingdom – we can leave the past behind.

Praise God for the unending joy and peace He gives each and every one of us – no matter what the situation.  We are still committed to proclaiming the Kingdom of God in every aspect of life.  Working and living in community – it’s an awesome day in the verto house!
